Short itinerary:

Day 1: Sofia – arrival. Private transfer from the airport and check in at your hotel.

Private walking city tour of Sofia.

Day 2: Sofia – Veliko Turnovo – Arbanassi museum village. Approximate mileage 250 km

Morning car delivery to your hotel. Afternoon private walking city tour of Veliko Turnovo. Wine tasting.

Day 3: Day in the area of Veliko Turnovo. Approximate mileage 50 – 80 km, depending on the interest to visit different sites ( Transfiguration, Petropavlovski, Kapinovski monastery; Tryavna museum town, Bozhentsi museum village ).

Day 4: Arbanassi – Shipka mountain pass – Kazanluk – Plovdiv. Approximate mileage 220 – 240 km, depending on the interest to visit different sites.

Day 5: Plovdiv – Koprivshtitsa museum town. Approximate mileage 90 km.

Day 6: Koprivshtitsa – Sofia.  Approximate mileage 110 km.

Day 7: Day in Sofia with possible trip to Rila Monastery and/ or Melnik museum town ( the smallest in Bulgaria, a lot of small typical wine cellars, where wine tasting is possible ). Approximate mileage, one way 120 – 190 km.

Day 8: Free time. Departure.

Low season ( 15 Sept – 10 May ): from 457 EUR per person in double room

High season ( 11 May – 14 Sept ): from 477 EUR per person in double room

  • 6 days rent-a-car ( delivery on Day 2, drop off on Day 7 evening ), with delivery and drop off charges, maps

  • Private local tour guide in English for a tour of Veliko Turnovo – 3 h

Types of cars: VW Polo, Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris or similar/ or higher category. Rent-a-car deposit: 200-250 EUR

Car insurance included: CDW + zero liability for damages or events occurred not by your fault or foreign fault, Combined with insurance for: Theft/ Fire/ Windows and roof

Coverage does not apply when the rental car is used on roads outside the national road network and off-road terrains.

In case of damage caused in the chassis applications of the vehicle, the coverage applies only if report from the Traffic Police is provided.

  • Additional Insurance Coverage ( not included ): Тire Insurance /TI/ – Coverage for damage caused by tires, wheels and un running part of the car.
