Walking Communist City Tour of Sofia
Get inside the main landmarks of communist history in the city of Sofia: with our tour you have the chance to visit the former headquarters of the Bulgarian Communist Party, the place of the destroyed mausoleum, the Monument of the Soviet army, The National Palace of Culture. During this special city tour, you learn about the theory of communism, what Marxism-Leninism is, the history of communism in Bulgaria, the pros and cons of the period and the relation between the communist government and religion, industry, economy, culture and everyday life of the people.
Visit the Museum of Socialist Art, which exhibits some 77 sculptures, 60 paintings and 25 smaller plastic art works created between 1945 and 1989 by the most renowned sculptors and painters of the time.

An interesting fact: Some historic researches say, that the area of nowadays Bulgaria may claim property to the first vine protection decree in 2 c. AD as well as to the first prohibitionist laws implemented in history by the Bulgarian Chan Krum during his reign from 802 to 814 AD. The wine cellar may also be Bulgarian invention since Bulgarian monastic orders had first been reported to have stored wine in cool vaults deep under the ground level.

2 days from Sofia to Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi
2 days tour to the Medieval Capital of Bulgaria, also known as “The City of Tsars”. Located in north-central Bulgaria, on 4 hills on the banks of Yantra River, some 230 km to the east of Sofia.
Among the main attractions in the city are: Tsarevets Citadel – the Royal Hill with the Patriarhal Cathedral and Baldwin tower, the Monument of Asenevtsi, Samovodska Charshia ( the Old Marketplace ), Gurko Street, The House with the Monkey, Hadjinikuli Inn, Assenevsi neighbourhood with the numerous medieval churches, etc.
Arbanassi museum village is located on a hill above Veliko Turnovo. It was mentioned for the first time in documents from 1538. The village was so scenic that Greek bishops from Mount Athos and from as far as Jerusalem went to spend the summer there!
Short itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer from Sofia to Veliko Tarnovo. Afternoon tour of the city. Overnight.
