Located in north-central Bulgaria, on 4 hills on the banks of Yantra River, some 230 km to the east of Sofia.Among the main attractions in the city are: Tsarevets Citadel – the Royal Hill with the Patriarhal Cathedral and Baldwin tower, the Monument of Asenevtsi, Samovodska Charshia ( the Old Marketplace ), Gurko Street, The House with the Monkey, Hadjinikuli Inn, Assenevsi neighbourhood with the numerous medieval churches, etc.Arbanassi museum village is located on a hill above Veliko Turnovo. It was mentioned for the first time in documents from 1538.
